My wife and I visited La Taqueria last weekend. We ordered the crispy Super Burrito with carne asada. The host was really helpful and kind. She was more than willing to answer all of our questions. One of my favorite burritos. It does not have rice but has a lot of meat, salsa and guacamole. If we're in the area, my wife and I would return. I recommend anyone try it when they're in SF and they want a burrito.

GET THECARNEASADABURRITO This burrito was so good that I WAS SAD just a few bites in because I didn't want it to be over. The meat is so juicy and flavorful, and considering there's no rice (fyi- if you're feelin a carby burrito), it's an amazing bang for your buck. I also got the chips & salsa (pico de gallo, and ask for extra when you get it at the window where you pick up for your food; the green salsa was really spicy / not your usual mild green salsa) for $2. Total slay. Everyone who worked there was super nice and it was very quick! There was only one person in line ahead of me, but it was still fast even considering that. Also fyi prices are a little cheaper if you pay in cash! Chase bank is diagonal across the street. I got my food to-go, so I can't comment on the dining-in experience, but it seemed exactly what you'd expect of a taqueria. Highly recommend!

After having grown up in the Bay my entire life, I came here for the first time this summer, at the age of 31. I came around 4pm on a Thursday, and the line was short. I was seated right after ordering, and my wait for the food was only 5-10 min. I ordered 1 super taco de lengua, and 1 super taco de asada. Both were great! I loved the flavors in the super taco. It came with sour cream, guac, cheese, and a soft and crispy tortilla. The contrasting textures made for a good bite. The meat was tender and flavorful. The burrito was interesting. First bite, I thought it was overrated. As I continued to eat it, I understood what the hype was about. The juices of the meat soaked into the beans. Paired with the guac, cream and cheese made for a great combo. The meat shined. I now understand why rice is not used. It would be a bit distracting with the flavors going on here. I got it dorado, and the tortilla was perfectly crisped. The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 starts is due to the price. Although I understand the reasoning, I still think $8 for a super taco is too much. Other than, it was really delicious, and would bring others in the future.

I'm here again!!!! Legendary Burrito Experience at La Taqueria! I just devoured the most incredible San Francisco Mission-style burrito at La Taqueria, and I'm still reeling from the flavor explosion! This iconic spot has earned its reputation as the best tacos and burritos in the world, and for good reason. Among the many excellent burritos in the Mission District, La Taqueria's stands tall as the absolute champion. This behemoth of a burrito was packed with tender, juicy carne asada, creamy guacamole, savory beans, and a perfect balance of salsa, and sour cream, all wrapped in a fresh, soft tortilla. Each bite was a masterclass in texture and flavor harmony. The quality and love that goes into crafting these burritos is palpable. La Taqueria's commitment to using only the freshest ingredients and traditional techniques has paid off in a big way. Don't even get me started on the value - this burrito is a steal! You'll leave feeling satisfied, but still somehow wanting more. If you're a burrito enthusiast like me, you owe it to yourself to visit La Taqueria and experience the best of the best. Even if you're not in the area, it's worth making a pilgrimage to this culinary mecca. In short, La Taqueria's San Francisco Mission-style burrito is a life-changing culinary experience that will leave you craving more. Get there, and taste the magic for yourself!

4.3/5 stars !!!! Came here after watching a JL Jupiter video on YouTube . Tasty tacos . Ordered a carne asada super taco ( no beans ) dorado style ( crispy shell ) , a carnitas taco ( no beans ) and a beef head taco and the total was just under $25 . Semi pricey, but you know what is the Bay Area Favorite was the carne asada and the carnitas but the beef head was also tasty !!! My only critique would be the tortillas. I don't think the double wrap is really necessary or adds anything, but perhaps you can use the extra tortilla and split the filling between the two and make two tacos and share with a friend which would make the prices make a little bit since .

La Taqueria serves the iconic Mission burrito--the simplest version made of meat, beans, and pico de gallo wrapped in a flour tortilla, and the "super" featuring the addition of cheese, sour cream, and avocado. For the choice of meats, I tried the Carnitas (shredded pork), Carne Asada (grilled beef steak), and Pollo (shredded chicken), each of which was delicious and flavorful in its own way! Distinctively, the burritos here weren't filled with rice, allowing the flavors of the meat and beans to stand out. I'd highly recommend ordering the burritos "dorado" (golden), and the wrap will be griddled to a nice golden brown. In addition to burritos, La Taqueria also serves tacos (imagine that!), built on two corn tortillas with meat and the other toppings. Ordering a taco "crispy" gets you one crispy griddled tortilla on top of a soft tortilla for a pleasant textural contrast!

Delicious! I came on Juneteenth and it was packed - I think it was around 1 PM and the line was a little ways down the block. We probably waited 15ish minutes to order. I got a super carnitas taco (I had a big breakfast earlier so wasn't super hungry) and a side of chips and salsa. The inside looked really packed but some intense watching allowed us to find someone leaving from a table after a few minutes. Everything was delicious. The meat is seasoned excellently. Toppings are nice and fresh. I've never really had sour cream on my tacos but it was good! The chips and salsa were delicious as well - chips were fresh and not too greasy while the salsa was also very fresh and flavorful. It's definitely worth the wait!

Small popular Mexican joint on the tail end of the Mission, street parking only so good luck. We came around lunchtime and there was a decent line of people to be served. There's no waitlist, just wait in line to take your order outside and then proceed to pay inside and wait for an available table to free up. The restaurant was bustling to say the least for every table was occupied, elbow to elbow. However, the line went fast and we were waved down by staff to an available table within minutes. This was my first time here and I usually order a burrito to use as a baseline when comparing other Mexican restaurants I've been to, so I ordered a carne asada super burrito el dorado style. El dorado style you ask? They lightly fry the outside of your burrito to make the outside a bit crispy, similar to the bottom of a fried gyoza! Didn't know this was a thing until my friend ordered it and I must say it gave a fried taste that was surprisingly pleasant. The taste of the burrito was above average but the content inside was very mushy, like I just bit into a scoop of mash potatoes. I didn't have a problem with it but different characteristic from other burritos I've tried. Overall, above average Mexican food and will comeback to try the rest of their menu.
